FAQ
Why should I join Life in the Uplands?
Breeders
Life in the Uplands connects reputable breeders with serious upland hunters looking for their next bird dog. We limit listings per breed and state, focus on education and trust, and send breeders higher-quality inquiries- not price shoppers. Our goal is simple: protect good dogs, support ethical breeders, and help hunters start the right way.
- Helps bring more recognition to them and their breeding program
- Year-Round exposure
- Simple, Affordable Marketing (less than a puppy deposit, cheaper than running ads)
- This program is for trusted breeders that strive to keep improving their breed and producing natural bird dogs w/ great genetics
Trainers
- Helps bring recognition to their your program
- Simple, affordable marketing (cheaper than running ads)
- Year round exposure (Even if your not keeping up on social media)
- This program is for trainers who are looking to help hunters find reputable trainers with experience with gun dog training
When people hop on Life in the Uplands they know that we only recommend the best resources based on the fact that we don’t just allow anyone to be listed here. Everyone that is searching through our site is a serious uplander, or getting into bird hunting.
–If I have started dogs, can you list them?
Yes, depending how many started dogs we get, we can either do shout outs on social media, or have a page on our website for started dogs.
–Why do you have a cap space for how many breeders/ trainers in each state?
We decided to have a cap space for a couple of reasons:
- To keep this from becoming a clustered classified page with too much going on
- Bring more attention to the ones that are recommended.
–If I have a litter of puppies with a few available, can you share it to your social media?
If you are a member of Life in the Uplands send us a message and we will be happy to share it! We won’t promise that we will, but we will try our best to be able to share it for you!
–I’m a guide and I have a weekend that just opened up, can you share that on your social media?
If you are a member of Life in the Uplands send us a message and we will be happy to share it! We won’t promise that we will, but we will try our best to be able to share it for you!
–Why do you need access to our pictures/ social content?
One of the ways we will be drawing people into the website is by building an online community with social media. We currently started building our social platforms, but decided it would be best to be using content from our recommended resources. When we post on our social media with your content, we will definitely be tagging you and giving you a shout out. We will not guarantee how often we choose your content, or even that we will get to yours. If you don’t want us using your content, we don’t have to, but if we do it will add more recognition to you.
–How else do you plan to get people onto the website?
SEO is one of the ways. With good seo, when people are researching for anything that we have on the website, our website will pop up (ex. Boykin spaniel near me, gun dog trainers MN…). We also will be growing on social media, with this we will be keeping up with consistent posts weekly with content from all of our recommendations on our website.
Also, we will be doing giveaways on our social media pages. This will help us grow our pages and keep more people seeing your content. The type of giveaways will vary, but if you would like us to have giveaways with your apparel to help build your appearance once you are listed on our website we would be happy to work with you on that!
We will also be doing a newsletter and share our recommendations there. Our goal is to also launch our own magazine once we have enough listings here.
–What is our Goal?
Our goal for the upland hunters using our website is to provide them with resources like trainers who have experience with gun dog training, or breeders who know their breed and genetics of their dog. We want Life in the Uplands to be their first choice to find quality resources.
Our goal for our recommended Trainers is to provide them with more warm leads for gun dog training. If your not already exclusively training gun dogs, we hope that you can get there with more recognition from us. If you already full time with gun dogs, we hope that we can be sending you more warm leads to keep growing or stay consistently busy. With any luck, maybe we can get you enough leads that you can send to a up and coming trainer that you know and trust.
Our goal for the trainers here is to send them more warm leads. We also hope that if you have any started dogs, that we can list them here and hopefully help you sell them. If you enjoy starting dogs, but find it hard to sell them, we hope that with our platform it will be easier for you.
