–What is Life in the Uplands?
Life in the Uplands is a dedicated platform for helping upland hunters find quality bird dog breeders, gun dog trainers, and other resources. All of our recommendations must meet our Missions and Standards in order for us to list them here.
-Why we started Life in the Uplands?
After hearing too many stories of people buying dogs that were not up to breed standards (poor health, bad genetics) we wanted to start Life in the Uplands to have a platform that only recognizes breeders that breed to breed standards and with a goal to produce high quality hunting dogs. We didn’t want to create a clustered classified page, or something that lists any “breeder” that sells puppies. We decided to create some standards that all breeders and trainers have to match in order to be recognized here. This allows you to search through our site with confidence and helps you find breeders or trainers that are in the business for the right reasons.
-Who are we?
First and foremost – we are upland hunters and bird dog enthusiasts! We spend all fall with our American Brittany in the grouse woods and pheasant fields. Life in the Uplands is our way of life. We understand the importance of good genetics when it comes to bird dogs. So we started this platform to help you find breeders that care about genetics.
-Who is Life in the Uplands for?
Life in the Uplands is for every upland hunter. Whether you are just getting started out, or a seasoned pro. We vet all of our resources that way the ones we list here on our platform that way if you’re looking for a professional trainer or a breeder, we have quality resources for you.
-How can I find bird dog breeders and trainers?
You can easily find bird dog breeders and trainers by navigating through our state and breed directories. We vet each of our listings, but highly recommend that you reach out to them to make sure that they are a good fit for you.
-What type of content can I expect on the blog?
Our blog features a variety of content, including short stories from upland hunting experiences, training tips for bird dogs, and advice. We aim to engage and inform our readers with valuable insights. We are not professional trainers ourselves, so we will only share our experiences, not full training guides.
